Three Steps to Photogrammetry
By MsFilly in Technology | 0 comments
There is a method of aerial survey called photogrammetry which uses remote sensing technology to take aerial photos of the land. These photos are used by miners, builders and ecological groups who rely on the information to be accurate.
According to Cooper Aerial, there are three important steps required for high-quality photogrammetry:
- Analytical Aerotriangulation. This is the use of software to determine the points which will need to be mapped in any given location.
- Stereo Compilation. This takes the information provided in the first step and converts into a digital format for use on technical equipment.
- Aerial Cartography. This is the fine-tooth comb process of editing the aerial images in order to make sure that all of the information seen there is clear and accurate.
Taking good pictures from the air requires more than just a camera and some Photoshop skills. A business really needs to know what it is doing. Through the use of these three steps, people who are providing aerial photography services can make sure that they are offering the best product to their customers. Since the rest of us live in the areas developed by those companies, we are all impacted by this work.
