Although I have been to the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia many times for winter skiing holidays, I had never been in the summer. When browsing online I noticed an advertisement for a Banff vacation package in July and I through to myself, why not? Am I ever glad that I made that decision and I certainly plan to return again next year. There is just so much to see and do and hiking, cycling, horseback riding, golfing and fishing are just a few of the activities I found time to do while on my vacation.

I decided that instead of flying to Calgary and renting a car I would take one of the Canada coach tours so I could focus on the scenery and not on driving. It was terrific with gorgeous blue-green lakes, towering pine trees and the background of the snow capped Rockies. We went through the spectacular area around Lake Louise, a place that I plan to return to as soon as possible. Another must do holiday is taking one of the Vial Rail train tour week long trips that travel through the Rockies from east to west or from Vancouver to Calgary.
